What do you believe is the purpose of the college education? I believe that the purpose of a college education is to gain more insight on what you want to learn and to open your mind to things you never thought to be possible.
What does it mean to be educated? For me, I think being educated means being well knowledgeable certain skills. I don’t think you need to know everything to be considered educated.
What experiences have you had with education that led you to this belief? During high school, I spent a lot of my time comparing myself to others by using our grades. I always tried to do better than them in everything because if I did I thought they would think that I was smart. Since I did this, I never really found my passion for many of my classes that I probably thought I would love because I missed the purpose for the class and only worked on getting a high grade. After a while I decide that being good at everything doesn’t make you happy and it doesn’t make you educated. For me, being the best at everything just made me stressed and tired.
